Refund Policy:

Refunds will be granted up to October 31st and will be credited the amount paid, less $100 to cover insurance and administration fees.

In the event of *injury, where a player is unable to continue for the season, a refund pro-rated, based on the date the player becomes injured will be granted.

*The refund is conditional upon presentation of a doctor’s note indicating that the injury is ‘season ending’.
Permission to Skate and Releases:

It is OWHA policy that female players remain automatically tied to the OWHA association they were last registered with. This is the case for both house league and competitive players. Note: Player Releases or Permissions to Skate Forms are not required for movement to or from any Boys Hockey Association, as they are not part of the OWHA.

If trying out for this association or any other … a 'Permission to Skate' form must be filled out and signed by a designated executive member of the player's current association/team and presented to the association/team for which the player wishes to try out before she is allowed on the ice. Failure to comply will result in a minimum two (2) game suspension for the offending player and/or head coach.
  • Requests for a 'Permission to Skate' must be sent to registrar@dwgha.com no later then April 4th so that the form can be prepared and ready. Please include the following information in your request: Player Name, Mailing Address and Telephone Number and Association & Team(s) trying out for.
  • No “Permission to Skate” forms may be used for the period between January 1st and two days after all the Provincial Championships for any teams during the current season (Note: For 2009-10 season - valid as of 12:01am on April 14, 2010)

If joining DWGHA … please complete the registration and mail the original version of the Player Release form obtained from your present organization. No copies will be accepted.

If requesting a Release from DWGHA … A written request to the registrar registrar@dwgha.com must be received. Please allow 3 weeks for receipt of a Player Release and include the following information in your request:

  • Player name
  • Date of birth
  • Last team played for

 Conditions:

1) Player releases will not be issued before May 30th, 2010. There is no need for any association to require a player release before that date.

2) Player releases will not be issued for players who have not fulfilled their financial obligations to DWGHA or who have not returned all DWGHA equipment.
